"I WILL PROTECT YOU AGAINST EVERYTHING"

I've skiid to Seurasaari island over the frozen sea
I've ridden in a track-maintenance tram car on a misty morning
I've stood on pier number three
and seen the Cathedral of Cologne

I've paddled knee-deep into the sea
rowed a boat on a misty morning
I've stood on the pier, all silent,
and heard the sounds of faraway ships

I've got lost in Latvia
by walking over the edge of the city
I thought I would disappear
but still got back in the end

First, by crashing a party of strangers
and, finally, back into the city
where I'm well-known in the cafés

I will protect you against everything
whatever it is you might fear
There isn't the kind of darkness [in the world]
that my tender hand wouldn't be able to thwart / ward off
